Old man winter is right around the corner and he promises to bring dry skin with him. If you have any other skin issues, the dryness in the cold seasons will make any skin condition worse. How?? Cold air tightens the skin's pores and reduces blood circulation. This reduces sebum; an oil that our skin produces naturally. Serum oil is a protective layer that traps moisture in the skin. This reduces the naturally occurring oil known as sebum, which acts as a protective layer and traps moisture to the skin. The humidity in the air is lower during winter...dry air means dry skin. There are multiple things you can do to help hydrate your skin during the winter months. The easiest ways are: Limit your skin's exposure to heat. No long hot showers, no space heaters, turn your thermostat down a little.
My favorite three things to help your face from drying out are listed below. I can help you with#2 #3.
#1 Drink lots of water. Drink as much water in the winter as you do in the summer.
#2 Use a gentle creamy face cleanser that cleans your face along with promoting healthy new skin cells. (Je.Li.Ology Facial Cleanser )
#3 Use a moisturizer that helps hydrate your face and protect new healthy layers of skin (H2Ology with Hyaluronic Acid)
You can find 2 & 3 on my SkinOlogy. page.
